Learn. Expand. Transform.

Rachana Shivam-Evans is the founding principal of the International College of Spiritual Midwifery and former director of the Centre for Human Transformation, a professional training and residential spiritual community.

Her teaching career spans over 40 years. She has facilitated Women’s Mysteries, a five-day retreat program attended by thousands of women over 27 years, connecting women to the source of their feminine power and wisdom.

Rachana’s pioneering work in Cellular and Organic Release, particularly in relation to the Incarnation and birth processes, brings great relief to many situations previously judged intractable. Her passion and understanding of the imprinting process and its long-term implications for well-being continues to inspire the development of processes that enable people to heal and more fully realise their potential.

Restoring the Id

What is the Id?

According to the Freudian interpretation of human psychology, the Id is the part of the psyche residing in the unconsciousness. It’s the source of instinctive impulses that seek satisfaction in accordance with the pleasure principle and are modified by the ego and the superego before they are given overt expression.

The ego is the ‘I’ or self of any person. A person has thinking, feeling, willing and distinguishing itself from the selves of others and the object of their thoughts. It’s the part of the psychic apparatus that experiences and reacts to the outside world and thus mediates between the primitive drives of the id and the demands of the social and physical environment.

The superego is the part of the personality representing the conscience, formed in early life by internalising the standards of parents and other behaviour models.

After the expansion and disruption of pregnancy and birth, which initiates us into motherhood, this ritual/practice honours and acknowledges the enormous distance that the woman has undertaken and brings her home to herself. She experiences her edges again and integrates her five bodies so that she has all her capacities available once more.

Returning To The Source

Returning to the Source is a 16-day Advanced Shamanic Training.

It’s a skill-based program that provides a systematic descent into the various realms of the unconscious, the personal, cultural, archetypal and cosmic layers of these realms of existence.

Participants learn to voyage into highly altered states of consciousness and master the skills to inhabit extensive shamanic realms efficiently, safely and enjoyably.

The program is designed in a 64-part sequence (one for each I Ching hexagram, and one for each sequence of our DNA) that step by step deepens into the mysteries of our existence.

On the way you will learn:

• to alter your personal experience of time

• to heal your body rapidly

• to establish connections with internal teachers who can teach any skill you wish to learn

• to guide others into profoundly altered states of awareness

• to join others in those states and to navigate into places of profound beauty, enjoyment, wonder and awe.

Imagine being able to access ‘talking in tongues’ without having to adopt the belief system that usually goes with it!

You will be a visionary anthropologist visiting other star systems in our galaxy! You will have the possibility of walking through the doorway into another dimension, having the skills to enter and exit safely.

The process is designed to unveil the nature of YOUR consciousness to YOURSELF.

You learn through your own experience, not through someone else telling you.

There will be times of profound initiations into the ancient wisdom and mystery traditions.

In addition to being profound, engaging, challenging, life-changing, thought-provoking, entertaining, and enabling you to think and see things in a new way, Returning to the Source is fun!

Past participants have included business analysts and corporate trainers, doctors and a Professor of Medicine, teachers, a property developer, shamanic apprentices, public servants, midwives, dancers, a film script writer, psychiatric nurse, landscape gardener, sailor, rebirthers and therapists, cabinet maker, mothers, carpenters, social workers and market gardener.

Returning to the Source teaches skills that will stay with you for the rest of your life in a concentrated, innovative and enjoyable way.

Women’s Mysteries

Every woman deserves five days for herself in a rich, nurturing environment.

This is your opportunity to travel deeply within and be supported by a circle of women. Enjoy massage, bush walks, drawing, laughing, great videos and meeting your wise woman in all her glory.

Women’s Mysteries takes women into the mysteries of the feminine and covers all aspects of a woman’s life cycle. As a woman comes to understand her own journey she is able to complete the unfinished transitions of the past that have been limits to her natural unfolding.

We offer one-day events and ongoing programs throughout the year that highlight particular transition points.

One-day events include:

1: Conscious Conception

To conceive or to be conceived consciously is the greatest gift we can give or receive. This day explores these possibilities and is an opportunity to heal trauma from past conceptions and to prepare for future ones – your own and your children’s.

2: Women and Sexuality

Your sexual self. Your essential self. Unveiling it to yourself in a safe and nurturing environment.

3: Wise Blood

Gain a fuller understanding of the potent changes that occur around times of ovulation and menstruation. Learn to tap deeply into your feminine wisdom and creativity. When we flow with our true nature, life becomes richer and harmonious.

4: Your Birth Your Choice

Taking responsibility for the birth of our children is a challenge with many options available. Ensure that your choice is a fully informed one. This day provides information that you will find vital in making decisions that will have lifelong impacts. Also looking at the pleasure and pain of birth. What is your role in the natural process? An opportunity to heal the past and plan for the future.

5: Mothers and Daughters

A day for mothers and daughters to explore and open to new possibilities in a relationship often fraught with difficulties. This primal relationship is a powerful gateway for healing and growth.

6: Journey Around My Father

A day in which we explore, heal and move to more deeply appreciate this journey which is the foundation of our future relationships with men.

7: Sisters and Siblings

Fraught with tears and joy, these early relationships set the pace for future encounters. A time to remember and resolve.

8: Menopause

Is it madness or is it a mystery? A doorway to be reviled or one to be entered? Will you embrace the crone or race for a facelift? A day of revelations and deep insights.

9: The Grandmothers Speak

A time of sharing from older women to younger women. We look at the customs of other places in relation to their elders and at our attitudes to aging as women in our culture. How can we benefit from the wisdom our elders possess and how can we grow into elders who are able to relate to and nourish generations of the future?
