The Aura And The Placenta

We are composed of energy fields and are part of a neverending, ever-changing sea of energy. Quantum physics and equipment such as CAT scans, x-rays, lasers and electricity have opened Western minds to realms of reality of which our forbears had no notion. The field of energy that surrounds our physical bodies is of a finer but not weaker substance.

Our physical bodies exist within a larger ‘body’, a human energy field (HEF) or aura. This is the mechanism through which we create our experience of reality, including health and illness. We exist in a sea of microorganisms that interrelate. They are generally invisible to the naked eye but always present. We are at every moment co-creating our very existence, our cells.

We will often refer to a ‘vibe’ that we perceive a person gives off. This can be described as good or bad. We will generally say that we feel it or sense it. Some people actually see it as light and sometimes as particular colours around the person. Young children often see auras. Other living things such as plants and animals also emit auras.

The aura is a field of subtle, luminous radiation surrounding a person or object. All people, or all living things, or all objects whatsoever are said to manifest such an aura. Often it is held to be perceptible, whether spontaneously or with practice. Such perception is at times linked to the third eye (pineal gland) of Indian spirituality. Various writers associate personality traits with the colours of different layers of the aura.

The aura is well recognised and documented in esoteric literature and Eastern medical systems. In recent times the current Western scientific paradigm has come to understand more fully what mystics and healers through the ages have known and practised. In Iran, the aura is known as ‘farr’ or ‘glory’. Ideas of the aura are well represented in Indian religions. A person’s mental and emotional disposition is said to be visible in the aura.

Auras are also thought to serve as a visual measure of the state of health of the physical body. A strong aura indicates good health and helps to maintain it. Our aura protects us from energies that are in the environment.

In our work, we maintain that Lotus Birth allows for the sealing of the baby’s aura. In the time after the baby emerges from the mother’s body and her auric field, the next step in the baby’s development involves the establishment of its own auric field. This process continues during childhood as the new person becomes more individuated.

During the first few years, the baby relies on and carries the expectation of being close to the mother and dwells within and draws from her auric field. The young one feels safe when it feels the mother nearby. A baby will become very distressed and will withdraw into itself as a means of survival when deprived of its mother’s auric field for an extended time.It is as if the mother provides the most appropriate ‘climate’ for the young one to grow well and strong.

Clair Lotus Day, the clairvoyant who began the practice of Lotus Birth in the USA, could see holes in people’s auras, which she said were caused by umbilical cord trauma.
